About Beverly Johnson, author of Written Amongst the Tears

Beverly D. Johnson is a businesswoman, former military officer, and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering and an Executive MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Her professional experiences extend from Germany to South America, and from Commanding a 300 person military unit in the Army Corps of Engineers to housewife and homemaker. Besides her work as a business professional she spends countless hours doing volunteer work in support of the growth and development of children. She is the divorced mother of two little boys, and although a native of Illinois, currently resides in Texas.

In her first published work she shares with you a deeply moving story that delves in to issues we all confront within our relationships, our families, and ourselves, as we make choices for our lives.

Jazz Artist, Effie Burt, was born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi but has resided in Iowa for over 30 years working as an employee of John Deere Company.

Professionally Ms. Burt has traveled the country as a featured artist for various gospel, community, and government affairs. She has also appeared on numerous recordings as well as her own published works “A Little Bit of Jazz”. Her song entitled, “I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa” has been adopted in a resolution by Iowa’s 79th General Assembly as the official companion to the State song.

Ms. Burt assembled the soundtrack for the titled book, “Written Amongst the Tears” from one of the featured poems in the book, “My Tears”.
